This work grew from watching leaves drift across water, where even small movements seemed to alter the pace of attention. Layered, textural brushstrokes evoke the soft undulation of water, allowing light to feel as though it moves across the surface. Leaf like forms are lightly held in the composition, never fully fixed. The painting stays close to that state of absorbed looking, when time loosens and a simple moment becomes enough to hold you.
